Ya solo faltan 5 públicas: La Cantuta logró su licenciamiento

La Universidad Enrique Guzmán y Valle (La Cantuta), con más de 12 mil estudiantes, se convirtió en la institución número 85 en obtener el licenciamiento institucional, luego de que la Superintendencia Nacional de Educación Superior Universitaria (Sunedu) informara que cumple con las condiciones básicas de calidad.

Según la resolución del consejo directivo de la Sunedu, que se publicará mañana en el diario El Peruano, se otorgó la autorización por seis años a dicha universidad que tiene tres locales en Lima (en Chosica, La Molina y el Rímac).

La Cantuta logra su autorización luego de tres años de presentarse al proceso de licenciamiento y tuvo que realizar denodados esfuerzos, informó a La República el rector Luis Alberto Rodríguez, quien fue hoy notificado por la Sunedu. “Este es un momento trascendental”, enfatizó.

La institución ofrece 81 carreras, de las cuales 53 son de pregrado, 17 de maestría, 3 de doctorado y 8 de segunda especialidad. “Hemos tenido que desistir de 1.300 especialidades antiguas que tenían partida de nacimiento, pero no de defunción. Ha sido una labor ardua porque, antes de la ley, todo estaba desordenado”, dijo el rector de La Cantuta.

Se debe indicar que, en la actualidad, ya solo quedan 5 universidades públicas en el proceso de licenciamiento. Aún están en incertidumbre la del Callao, la Villarreal, la de Huacho, la Unamba y la Pedro Ruiz Gallo.

En tanto, ya hay 85 universidades licenciadas y 32 denegadas. En unos días se conocerá la cifra real de instituciones que cumplen con las condiciones mínimas.
