1. Actualmente el estado del mar en zonas costeras del litoral, en general, presenta condiciones normales.
2. Sin embargo, las condiciones atmosféricas en el océano Pacífico Sur están manifestando el desarrollo de intensas perturbaciones y generando persistentes oleajes anómalos que están extendiéndose en dirección de nuestro dominio marítimo.
3. Se estima que estos oleajes se aproximen a zonas costeras del litoral con características de ligera intensidad, en las últimas horas de la tarde del jueves 11 de febrero; sin embargo, debido a la gran concentración de energía y velocidad con que se aproximan estos oleajes, así como, con la coincidencia de la fase de luna nueva (viernes 12 al domingo 14 de febrero, periodo del mes en el cual se producen las mareas más altas) y a factores locales, principalmente en bahías y zonas expuestas hacia el suroeste, en la zona costera, las alturas de olas aumentarían manifestándose con características de ligera y eventualmente moderada intensidad, con alturas de olas de hasta 2.5 metros en la zona de rompiente.
4. Estos oleajes afectarían las áreas costeras abiertas o semi-abiertas cuyo ingreso este orientado hacia el Sur-oeste.
5. Se prevé la disminución gradual del oleaje anómalo el lunes 15 de febrero, estimándose el restablecimiento de las condiciones normales a partir del día martes 16 de febrero 2010.
Ante estos informes, EL GOBIERNO REGIONAL DE LIMA, que preside el Ing. Nelson Oswaldo Chui Mejía recomienda lo sgte:
OJO: La Dirección de Hidrografía y Navegación de la Marina de Guerra del Perú, emite comunicados que advierten de peligros reales de ocurrencia eminente; favor guardar las recomendaciones siguientes:
a) Los oleajes anómalos tienen efectos destructores en la zona del litoral costero.
b) Se recomienda adoptar medidas preventivas para las actividades portuarias, evitando exponerse a estos oleajes anómalos si realiza actividades deportivas, pesqueras, portuarias y recreativas.
c) Asegurar las embarcaciones ancladas en el puerto; si es factible, saque sus embarcaciones (pequeñas) a tierra.
d) Asegurar puertas y ventanas si vive en las cercanías al mar.
e) Evitar instalar carpas y otros equipos cerca de la orilla del mar o línea costera.
f) A los Comités de Defensa Civil, difundir el texto que antecede.
g) En la semana en curso, en la cual se suele levantar campamentos en las zonas costeras, tomar las precauciones del caso y evitar introducirse en el mar; sobre todo, tener especial cuidado con los menores de edad.
