La industria de la música está de luto, pues el líder de la banda española “Jarabe de Palo“, Pau Donés, falleció este martes a los 53 años después de una larga batalla contra el cáncer.
De acuerdo a la BBC, la familia de Pau Donés informó de la triste noticia mediante un comunicado.
El grupo y su vocalista saltaron a la fama a mediados de los años 90 con canciones como “La flaca” o “Depende“. Su estilo sencillo, alegre e intimista estaba influenciado por la rumba catalana y por la música latina.
“Pedimos el máximo respeto e intimidad en estos momentos tan difíciles”, dijo su familia, en un mensaje en el que también agradecieron “al equipo médico y todo el personal” de los hospitales de Barcelona donde le trataron.

Sin embargo, Pau Donés volvió a los escenarios y sacó un nuevo libro disco por sus 50 años, hasta que en julio de 2018 anunció que Jarabe de Palo cesaba su actividad musical de manera indefinida a partir del 1 de enero de 2019.
