Inició el proceso de elecciones para el 2020, así lo informó el Jurado Nacional de Elecciones

Tras el anuncio de adelanto de elecciones congresales para el domingo 26 de enero del 2020 dado a conocer a través de un mensaje a la Nación por el presidente de la República, Martín Vizcarra, el Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE) inició el proceso electoral. 

Según indica el JNE «el padrón electoral para el proceso de Elecciones Congresales 2020 se cerró el 30 de setiembre de 2019, fecha de publicación del Decreto Supremo 165-2019-PCM». Asimismo, «establece que el Registro Nacional de Identificación y Estado Civil (Reniec) debe remitir al Jurado Nacional de Elecciones, la Lista de Padrón Inicial para el proceso de Elecciones Congresales 2020, el 7 de octubre de 2019. Reniec debe remitir al JNE el padrón electoral para su aprobación dentro del plazo de 10 días después de su recepción». 

Es decir solo podrán participar en esta elección quienes hayan cumplido la mayoría de edad hasta el 30 de setiembre del presente año. 

Asimismo, el JNE explica en dicha resolución que «todo proceso electoral, como regla general, debería tener una duración total de 365 días contados desde el primer acto del proceso electoral, es decir, desde el cierre del padrón electoral, lo que en este caso no es posible de aplicar, pues entre la convocatoria y el día de la elección median solo 118 días calendario, a los que el cronograma electoral debe restringirse, siendo necesario adoptar medidas excepcionales».
