El jefe de la Oficina Defensorial de Lima Norte, Fabián Tutaya Torres, advirtió hoy que los pobladores del distrito de Ambar, vienen consumiendo agua de dudosa calidad, lo cual pone en riesgo la salud de quienes habitan dicha zona ubicada en la provincia de Huaura, región Lima.
El funcionario detalló que esta situación fue detectada por los comisionados de la Defensoría del Pueblo durante un viaje itinerante en el que verificaron que el agua con la que la comuna distrital abastece al reservorio del lugar carece de la dosificación de cloro que requiere para su tratamiento. “Esto resulta preocupante, teniendo en cuenta que son más de 3000 personas las que habitan Ambar”, subrayó.
Sostuvo que la situación descrita, según funcionarios de la Municipalidad de Ambar, responde a la avería del sistema artesanal de dosificación de cloro, lo cual se agrava ante la falta de una tapa hermética que debiera tener dicha reservorio a fin de evitar la contaminación del líquido elemento. “En atención a ello, hemos recomendado al referido palacio edil que disponga la reparación inmediata del sistema de dosificación de cloro, así como el mantenimiento y la instalación de la respectiva tapa”, manifestó Tutaya Torres.
Durante una visita realizada por Comisionados de la Defensoría del Pueblo al Centro de Salud de la zona se pudo advertir que existe población en edad escolar de la zona que presenta parasitosis y desnutrición, lo cual puede ser consecuencia de la falta de desinfección del agua que consumen. Fabián Tutaya informó que respecto al monitoreo de la calidad del agua, que es una actividad que le corresponde a la autoridad de salud, en la provincia de Huaura tan sólo existen resultados en 6 de los 12 distritos que comprende dicha provincia.
“Precisamente, Ambar es uno de los distritos donde no se controla la calidad del agua y según lo manifestado por el Jefe del Centro de Salud, doctor José Luis Gavedia Lezama, esta situación se mantiene desde setiembre del año pasado”, dijo. Finalmente el Jefe de la Oficina Defensorial Lima Norte sentenció que “urge que la Diresa Lima Provincias realice de inmediato las acciones necesarias para cumplir cabalmente con su función de vigilancia de la calidad del agua en la zona, evitando un problema de salud pública.
