Huaura, Barranca y Huaral son sedes de los Juegos Deportivos Escolares Nacionales

Las sedes designadas para los Juegos Deportivos Escolares Nacionales fueron las provincias de Huaura, Barranca y Huaral, albergando a cientos de estudiantes que competirán en diversas disciplinas. 

Es por ello, que el director regional de Educación Lic. Jesús Veliz Victoriano realizó un monitoreo de la actividad deportiva, que se encuentra en la etapa regional, constatando que los menores desarrollen sus habilidades motrices, su condición física y mental en un espacio seguro e intercultural. 

Los torneos de tenis de mesa, tenis de campo, gimnasia, futsal, hanball, natación y paranatación se realizan en la jurisdicción de Huaura; mientras que las competencias de fútbol, mini básquet, básquet, ajedrez, karate, y judo en Barranca; asimismo los juegos de voleibol, voleibol sentado, atletismo, paraatletismo y ciclismo en Huaral. 

Se debe precisar que la categoría “A” es para los menores de 10, 11 y 12 años cumplidos; la categoría “B” comprende de 13 y 14 años; la categoría “C” a las edades de 15, 16 y 17 años y en la categoría “D” participan los niños, niñas y adolescentes con discapacidades (nacidos entre los años 2002 al 2006). 

De otro lado, el funcionario regional reconoció a los alumnos de la I. E. Simón Bolivar de Oyón por obtener el primer lugar en el fútbol damas (categoría B), así como al colegio Pedro E. Paulet de Huacho por ocupar el segundo puesto. Los encuentros deportivos se llevaron a cabo en las instalaciones del estadio municipal de la localidad barranquina.
