La madrugada del 18 de julio de 1992, nueve estudiantes y un profesor de la Universidad Enrique Guzmán y Valle fueron sacados del campus y llevados a Lima, donde fueron ejecutados y enterrados en fosas.
Este lunes se recuerda el 19 aniversario del secuestro y matanza por parte de un grupo paramilitar de nueve estudiantes y un profesor de la Universidad Enrique Guzmán y Valle, más conocida como La Cantuta.
El 18 de julio de 1992, los universitarios y el docente fueron sacados de sus dormitorios en el campus por un comando paramilitar, bajo la sospecha de que se trataban de terroristas, y llevados fuera de Lima, donde fueron ejecutados y enterrados en fosas.
La enciclopedia virtual Wikipedia recuenta los hechos ocurridos la madrugada del 18 de julio de 1992, dos días luego de la explosión del coche-bomba en la Tarata:
“Miembros del Servicio de Inteligencia del Ejército así como de la Dirección de Inteligencia del Ejército, muchos de los cuales supuestamente pertenecían al recientemente establecido Grupo Colina, entraron a las residencias de la Universidad Enrique Guzmán y Valle”, refiere.
“Una vez dentro, las tropas forzaron a todos los estudiantes a salir de sus habitaciones y echarse boca abajo en el piso. Nueve estudiantes, sospechosos de estar conectados a la explosión de Tarata fueron separados de los demás y llevados aparte. Mientras tanto, en las residencias de los profesores, un grupo de soldados irrumpió a la casa del profesor Hugo Muñoz Sánchez. Luego de registrar su dormitorio, se llevaron al profesor. Ninguna de las diez víctimas fue vuelta a ver”, concluye.
Los nombres de los alumnos son: Bertila Lozano Torres, Dora Oyague Fierro, Luis Enrique Ortiz Perea, Armando Richard Amaro Cóndor, Robert Édgar Teodoro Espinoza, Heráclides Pablo Meza, Felipe Flores Chipana, Marcelino Rosales Cárdenas, y Juan Gabriel Mariños Figueroa.

Los familiares de los fallecidos en las matanzas de La Cantuta y de Barrios Altos llevaron a cabo una romería en el cementerio El Ángel, en Lima, según refiere el diario La República.
“Diecinueve años insistiendo en que la Justicia es un derecho para todos los familiares, que los responsables tienen que ser castigados por los crímenes que han cometido, que hay una obligación del Estado”, declaró al citado diario Gisela Ortiz, hermana de Luis Ortiz, estudiante asesinado por el grupo Colina.
