La Oficina Regional de Defensa Civil del Gobierno Regional de Lima entregó ayuda humanitaria a los afectados por las heladas y bajas temperaturas en la provincia de Canta.
Los brigadistas recorrieron los distritos altoandinos de Lachaqui y Arahuay, por disposición de nuestro gobernador regional Nelson Chui Mejía, repartiendo prendas de abrigo tipo polar, alimentos no perecibles y agua mineral a centenares de personas mayores de 65 años de edad.
Igualmente, se cumplió con proporcionar buzos polares y útiles escolares a cientos de niños, hasta los 12 años, quienes viven a una altura que supera los 3 mil metros sobre el nivel del mar.
Los pobladores beneficiados saludaron el noble gesto de la primera autoridad regional, por proporcionarles ropa de abrigo y víveres, que les permitirá mitigar el intenso frio que soportan al alcanzar valores de menos 5 grados centígrados en horas de la noche.
Por su parte, el Jefe Regional de Defensa Civil Lic. César Requejo Rodríguez sostuvo que se insiste en las gestiones para que el gobierno Central declare en estado de emergencia las zonas altoandinas debido a la inclemencia del clima, que perjudica la salud de los menores y ancianos, quienes ya presentan infecciones respiratorias agudas.
