El diario el comercio destaca la ciudadela de chiprac la capital  del reino de los Atavillos gracias al documental realizado por Galo Pérez y la productora “Otra Nota Producciones” el evento deportivo programado para este 29 de junio en Chiprac.

Es un destino con un gran potencial turístico, aunque poco explorado hasta el momento. La comunidad de San Juan de Uchucuánico pertenece al distrito de San Miguel de Acos, uno de los 12 municipios de la provincia de Huaral. 

Para mayores señas, se halla a 79 km del centro de la ciudad huaralina, es parte de la sierra limeña y está entre los 3.500 y 3.800 m.s.n.m. De junio a setiembre debes ir bien abrigado. De diciembre a marzo son los meses de lluvia, por lo que contemplarás un colchón de nubes. Su máximo atractivo es Chiprac (entrada: S/5), la capital del reino de los atavillos. 

El ingeniero Enrique Pareja Ferreyros ha investigado sobre esta joya arqueológica, que es vecina del complejo de Rúpac. “El reino de los atavillos se formó entre los años 900 y 1.400 d.C. Se cree que llegó al lugar como una expansión de la cultura Tiahuanaco. Cuando declinó dicha cultura, el antiguo Perú se dividió en señoríos, entre ellos, los atavillos”, señala. 

Resaltan las construcciones que dejaron, principalmente, las viviendas y los cullpis. Estos últimos son espacios de adoración (rendían culto a la luna, el sol y a los muertos). Las edificaciones se mantienen casi intactas, y en Chiprac se sitúan en la cima de una montaña. Las casas tienen más de dos pisos, pueden medir hasta 10 m de alto y poseen una base rectangular, además de techos fabricados con vigas de piedra. Así, Chiprac es una parada clave para descubrir las grandezas preíncas. 

Finalmente, ya en el centro de San Juan de Uchucuánico, pasea por la plaza e ingresa a la iglesia para admirar su retablo colonial.

¿Cómo llegar y dónde alojarse?

El pasaje de Lima a Huaral en Z Buss vale S/8. Una vez allá, encontrarás en la avenida Huando una minivan que te llevará a San Juan de Uchucuánico por S/20. Salida: 11 a.m. Si deseas pasar la noche allí, llama al 98955- 2406 (Mifl en Ubaldo, presidente de la comisión de turismo). El hospedaje es un salón comunal. Precio: S/10 la noche.
