Coronavirus en Perú: Minsa aprueba uso de medicamentos para el tratamiento del COVID-19

El Ministerio de Salud (Minsa) aprobó este martes el uso de diversos medicamentos para el tratamiento de los pacientes con coronavirus (COVID-19).

A través de la Resolución Ministerial Nº 139-2020/MINSA, el sector a cargo de Víctor Zamora indicó que si bien no hay tratamientos específicos dirigidos a pacientes con sospecha o confirmación de infección por la referida enfermedad, sí existen estudios internacionales sobre el uso de determinados fármacos que ofrecen un limitado nivel de evidencia.

Por esa razón, el Minsa aprobó la aplicación de cloroquina, hidroxicloroquina, azitromicina, lopinavir/ritonavir, entre otros fármacos, para el tratamiento de pacientes de coronavirus que presenten síntomatología moderada o severa.

En el mismo documento, se garantiza la gratuidad en el diagnóstico, detección y tratamiento de dicha enfermedad en el marco del Aseguramiento Universal en el Sistema Integral de Salud (SIS).

Más temprano en una entrevista publicada por IDL-Reporteros, el ministro de Salud, Víctor Zamora, aseguró que “el protocolo que dice que en determinadas condiciones se debe hacer el tratamiento, y en otras, no”.

La resolución ministerial indica que “todo trabajador de sector salud deberá estar vacunado contra influenza estacional y neumococo”. Además, precisa que en caso se presenten síntomas respiratorios compatibles con Infección Respiratoria Aguda (IRA) por contacto de un caso sospechoso o confirmado de COVID-19, el personal será sometido a una prueba de descarte.
