Trece monumentos arqueológicos ubicados entre los departamentos de Cajamarca, Cusco, Lima, La Libertad y Amazonas, fueron declarados Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación por el Ministerio de Cultura.
En primer lugar destaca el sitio arqueológico Pacopampa, del distrito de Querecoto, en la provincia cajamarquina de Chota; seguido por Wat´a, en el distrito de Huarocondo, en la provincia cusqueña de Anta.
Igualmente figura el cerro Piñón, en el distrito de Mala, provincia de Cañete, Lima; y la huaca El Zanjón y Taitacantin Norte, además de las huacas Taitacantin, Don Alfredo, Bitin 1 y 2, y Cementerio, en la provincia liberteña de Virú.
También se incluye al sitio El Romerillo, en la provincia de Bongará, en Amazonas; así como Guayabo A y B, en el distrito de Chocos, provincia limeña de Yauyos.
Los reconocimientos fueron establecidos a través de resoluciones directorales del Ministerio de Cultura, publicados hoy en el boletín de Normas Legales del Diario Oficial El Peruano.
Cualquier proyecto de obra nueva, caminos, carreteras, canales, denuncios mineros o agropecuarios u otros que pudiesen afectar o alterar el paisaje deberán contar con aprobación previa del despacho de Cultura.
