Un pequeño de dos años fue detectado con el síndrome de Kawasaki, al que algunos han vinculado con la COVID-19. El doctor Franklin Mendoza, coordinador de UCI pediátrica-COVID-19 del INSN San Borja, indicó que el menor llegó con fiebre, manos y pies hinchados, eritema, labio fisurado, sequedad, pero que actualmente se encuentra estable y está en la etapa inicial de la enfermedad.
Este síndrome está en proceso de descubrimiento, pese a que ya lleva más de 50 años en el mundo, pero aún se desconoce su causa y su relación con el coronavirus aún no ha sido demostrada y sigue en estudio.
El especialista indicó que los síntomas de este mal son fiebre más de cinco días, el enrojecimiento de ojos sin secreción, ganglios en el cuello, conducta irritable, eritema a nivel del dorso o pecho, hinchazón de manos y pies. Una vez que se detecten estos síntomas, el paciente debe ser llevado a un centro de salud.
